With the good graces of school officials, a new organization is being developed calling itself the Denham Springs High School Athletic Association. This is open to all alumni and friends of the Yellow Jacket athletic program and the high school in general and will place emphasis on all athletic endeavors at the school. This is in no way completition for the Yellow Jacket Booster Club, which usually consists of parents of athletes, and will be a joint effort to help the financial strain on the school by having fund raisers, etc.
There are corporate and individual sponsorships available but the grassroots of this organization will be former Jacket athletes, their families and any friend of the school that wants to join. This will consist of a memebership drive that is now underway with a goal of 1,000 in sight.
The cost for a single membership is $25 annually and you can join by sending your application to the DSHS Athletic Association, Post Office Box 2517, Denham Springs, LA. 70727, or by calling any of the board members. These consist of Brent Dugas, Dr. R. Hunter Bond, Paul Guitreau, John Guzzardo, Ben McDonald, Hal Rasberry, Dr, Michael S. Sceroler, Lori Lamm-Williams, and Pee Wee Day.
